How To Get Part Of The £400m The UK Government Just Announced For Small Businesses
The UK Chancellor of the Exchequer, our fancy name for our finance minister, presented his autumn statement to Parliament today and announced £400 million of new funding for venture capital firms to invest in small businesses. The news has been covered extensively, including at the BBC, the Telegraph and Investment Week.
This new funding will be routed to businesses through the British Business Bank. Details of how the BBB works can be found on their page here. The BBB is owned by the government and it doesn’t lend money directly to businesses. It uses a network of “banks, leasing companies, venture capital funds and web-based platforms”.
If you’re looking for finance, the government’s “finance support finder” search engine is a good place to start.
